چکیده
Abstract: Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is the most common peripheral vestibular disturbance. Recurrency of BPPV highly reported in females and elderly group. This study aimed to evaluate association between vitamin D deficiency recurrent events. was a literature review using PubMed, ClinicalKey, GoogleScholar databases. The results obtained 13 literatures according predetermined inclusion exclusion criteria. Vitamin caused disturbances calcium metabolism degradation otoconia. Release otoconia debris into endolymph fluid could trigger attack. Based on demography, frequent among female elderlies with osteoporosis/osteopenia. level 25(OH)D group lower than non-recurrent group, supplementation reduce recurrency BPPV. In conclusion, one causes since it affects which constituent component Instability will affect release triggering attacks increasing risk can recurrence level. Keywords: benign vertigo; deficiency; metabolism; female; Abstrak: merupakan penyakit gangguan keseimbangan perifer yang paling sering ditemui. Rekurensi dilaporkan lebih tinggi pada kelompok wanita dan usia lanjut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara defisiensi kejadian rekuren. Jenis penelitian ialah menggunakan database Google Scholar. Hasil mendapatkan literatur ditelaah berdasarkan kriteria inklusi eksklusi ditetapkan. Pada terjadi metabolisme kalsium degradasi otokonia. Debris otokonia terlepas ke dalam cairan endolimf dapat memicu terjadinya serangan Secara demografi, rekuren dijumpai perempuan lanjut memiliki riwayat osteoporosis/ osteopenia. Kadar rendah dibandingkan dengan kadar non-BPPV rekuren, pemberian suplementasi menurunkan tingkat rekurensi pasien Simpulan salah satu penyebab dari perjalanan menjadi Defisiensi memengaruhi komponen penyusun Instabilitas akan pelepasan sehingga mencetuskan meningkatkan risiko Pemberian Kata kunci: D; kalsium; jenis kelamin perempuan;

Serum vitamin D and recurrent benign paroxysmal positional vertigo
OBJECTIVES The objective of the present study was to examine the effects of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentrations on patients diagnosed with benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) on BPPV recurrence. STUDY DESIGN Case series. METHODS A retrospective review of 232 patients diagnosed with BPPV visiting the clinic between June 2014 and June 2015 was performed. All patients underwent a ...
متن کاملInfluence of supplemental vitamin D on intensity of benign paroxysmal positional vertigo: A longitudinal clinical study
Background: Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is linked to vitamin D deficiency. This clinical trial aimed to determine the influence of vitamin D supplementation on intensity of BPPV. Methods: The study population was selected consecutively and the diagnosis of BPPV was made by history and clinical examination and exclusion of other conditions. Intensity of BPVV was assessed based...

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is the most common cause of recurrent vertigo and has a lifetime prevalence of 2.4% in the general population. Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo is caused when calcium carbonate material originating from the macula of the utricle falls into one of the semicircular canals. Due to their density relative to the endolymph, they move in response to grav...

Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is the most common and most treatable cause of vertigo. In most cases, a simple maneuver that takes less than a few minutes to do resolves the problem. BPPV is caused by misplaced calcium carbonate crystals (otoconia) in the semicircular canal of the inner ear that have broken free from the utricle. When these crystals break free, they either remain l...
